Intended Schedule:

Day 1 - 13:30

We meet at the Bristen cable car station, 6475, and begin hiking. We pass through different landscapes such as flowery alpine meadows, forests and rocky peaks.

We will have a couple snack breaks during the afternoon to recharge our batteries. After approx. 4 hours we reach our base camp next to the pristine

(and icy) Bristen lake (2097 m).

We enjoy a warming expedition style vegetarian dinner. From here we are able to overlook the lights that enlighten the Urner valley and prepare for sliding into our cozy sleeping bags.

Day 2 - 06:30

Early bird catches the worm! After a quick breakfast we start our summit push to the top of Bristen. This part requires some time, as we have to climb for around 800 m on the exposed northern ridge (II UIAA max. diff.) Once on top, we finally are able to claim that we conquered this magic Pyramid!

12:30

We have a small snack break before descending the backbone of the pyramid all the way to base camp.

We pack our gear and start the long and tedious descent: Urner people describe the Bristen as a "knee eater" tour, we are descending 2400 m in one afternoon after all! We finish our adventure at the meeting point, safe and sound and probably quite tired!

Non-climbers are very welcome to join the adventure, as the ridge climbing does not involve ropes or technical gear and is rather of scrambling nature.

We do not recommend joining this particular adventure if you suffer from Vertigo, as some parts of the ridge are quite exposed. Feel free to contact us in case you're unsure whether this is the right adventure for you!
